BROOKS, AB (March 2, 2018) – The Brooks Bandits are happy to announce that the organization has donated $3,799 in profits from its annual Charity Jersey Auction to the Canadian Mental Health Association Alberta Southeast Region.
The donation was made by Bandits Manager of Sales and Marketing Nathan Crosby to CMHA Alberta Southeast Executive Director Cori Fischer earlier this week.
The team’s annual charity jersey night was held on February 3rd, as the team downed the Whitecourt Wolverines 8-3 in front of an excellent announced crowd of 1,492, while wearing special green-and-blue themed mental health jerseys designed by Matthew McElroy, who has designed the majority of the team’s special jerseys.
The Bandits have now donated more than $25,000 over the last five years in jersey auction proceeds to charitable causes, ranging from the CMHA, to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, to the ALS Society and more.
The highest bid for a jersey was for that of #13 Will Garin, which went for $600. The Bandits would like to thank everyone who placed a bid for a jersey and helped to support further awareness of mental health issues in our region.
